A splash of colour livened up a plain serviceable pashmina. We were out for lunch in Cochrane a couple months ago and browsed the shops on main street. Ana saw a quilt that she loved at the quilting store and bought some of the main panel fabric used in the quilt. What to do with it? We came up with a simple project. I sewed the panel onto a black pashmina that belonged to Ana that she had stopped wearing because she has been drawn to brighter colours lately.
I also added two snaps that can hold the pashmina in place when worn as a wrap.
Here is the beautiful Ana with her colourful animal friends wrapped around her shoulders.
Her love of animals sparked her latest business taking care of pets. Ana also makes silver jewelry and will soon have pieces for furry friends as well. She repairs jewelry and makes custom pieces as well.
Ana made a set of earrings and pendant for me in exchange for the sewing I did for her. Unfortunately the photos don’t show much detail of her work. The stones are fossilized coral.
