Project 29: A simple bag from a shirt and sundress

Simple Lined Bag

…from a sundress and shirt.

I followed the excellent tutorial for the April Bag from Sew, Mama, Sew!

Interior pockets

I added pockets, but from lack of planning I placed them too high up to work as originally planned. They would have been sewn shut under the handle casing. So I slashed the middle of the pocket, and finished the edges and folded them down. Kind of looks like I meant to do that…

If you do want to add pockets to this pattern, make sure to place them about 2.5 inches up from the bottom and at least 4.5 inches below the top of the lining.

This will be my purse while I repair my usual one.
