Project 28: Twirly skirt from 2 old dresses

Materials: 2 dresses and some stretchy fabric for the waistband (approximately 15″ x waist measurement)

These were well-loved dresses of my daughter and it was her idea to refashion them into a skirt. At first  she wanted a dress…

But she changed her mind and we went with a skirt. I chopped the bottoms of the dresses off and sewed them together. For the waistband, I followed the tutorial at Sew, Mama, Sew!. It worked out well although I needed a wider waistband than recommended. I entered the skirt in the Pattern Review Refashion/Repurpose contest. I hope to finish a couple more sewing projects in the next 2 weeks that the contest in running.
