Haikus inspired by a weekend with Jules Mitchell

Way back in September I attended a workshop, Yoga Biomechanics the Science of Stretching, presented by Jules Mitchell at Yoga MCC in Calgary. Here are some highlights I came away with, written the Monday morning after the workshop.

Tensegrity's hold
Strong stable adaptable
Our connectedness

Don't just stretch there, Load
Stretch can be a loaded word
Be strong in your range

Muscles load tendons
Get stiff tendons, strong muscles
Maintain or gain range

Strength is about rest
feel, breathe, recover, be
No strength without rest

Guided just enough
learn to yield to gravity
Held, lifted and free
